This is an exceptional piece of Limoges! The artist has painted soft hues of greens and blues on the creamy ivory background of the lid. He then applied a delicate bed of pink roses and greenery ending the scene with an angelic, blond haired, cherub engulfed in the flowers. The cherub appears to be sleeping or maybe waiting for the next person to come by so he can cast his loving spell over them. The inside of the dish has an iridescent pearl luster applied that really tops off this piece. The inside of the bases rim has been painted in gold added just another special touch. The box is in excellent condition. Artist signature “Stamey” has been delicately placed below one of the roses on the front.
