The C.F. Monroe Company turned out its decorated Opal Ware in a variety of forms. Undoubtedly the most popular was that of a covered, hinged box, and these boxes are found today in an infinite variety of shapes . This fantastic Hand Painted Wavecrest hinged box is decorated with a lovely pink floral and green leaf design with raised enamel accents. It also has a translucent blue tint in the opal glass on a couple of the swirl design portions on both pieces. SUPERIOR condition with no chips, cracks, or dings and even its original brass closures are in excellent condition with minimal ware for its age.

Backstamp: Wave over Crest is barely visible but it is there. C.F Monroe mark
