REDUCED Chinese carved laughing figure

Nice figure hand carved from single piece of boxwood or juniper giving it a rich chestnut tone and buttery soft texture. Stands 6.75 in. tall, marked China on base in yellow enamel. Intricate details are from flowing robes, to tasseled prayer beads and loving, laughing countenance and interesting Buddha like hat. Believe this dates to turn of century, or early 20th century based on quality of carving and patina. Very good condition, no damage. His raised hand once held something suspended from a rope or string, possibly a lantern or incense. This holy man will add good chi to your home or office.
