It is from the early part of the 1920s and it is in near mint condition.
It has a gorgeous Asian scene on it done in tambour needlework and surrounded by tiny white beads.
The scene is of a man and woman, dressed in Oriental garb, outside in a garden.
The entire purse, including the charming finger strap, is entirely outlined in the tiniest faux pearls.
The tambour stitching is so tiny that it is no wonder women went blind doing it.
The silvertone frame is in good condition, straight and snaps shut securely.
The interior is a lovely creamy color and totally intact, although it has some very minor soiling.
I see no missing beads or stitches. No holes, tears or repairs.
Measures 5 1/2 inches across the widest part of the frame, 7 1/2 inches across the bottom of the bag, 5 3/4 inches from top of clasp to bottom of bag and an additional 3 inches for the finger strap.
Era: 1920's
Wearability Condition: Excellent although not recommended due to delicacy and historical value.
Display Condition: Excellent
A simply gorgeous and highly collectible purse!
Item ID: VP-551
