Rare Vintage Purse and Opera Glasses Set

This is a lovely combination of a lady’s vanity purse and opera glasses set.

The exterior is either a very thin leather or a very thick paper and is embossed in gold on a maroon background.

The purse opens with a foldover snap to reveal a golden pink interior which includes a pressure opening coin purse, a small lipstick tube and holder, a mirror which is quite clear for it’s age and a comb pocket which includes the comb.

The matching opera glasses sit at the bottom of the purse in their own compartment.

The body is wrapped in material matching the exterior of the case and the lenses, movement and magnification are still fully functional.

This opera purse is in remarkably good condition for its age with the handle showing appropriate wear and the interior showing some slight soiling. The lipstick case is tarnished but intact and the coin purse is fully functional.

The exterior is beautiful and in good condition with the exception of the wear to the handle noted above and some shredding to the silk lining under the snap portion of the flap.

This is a rare and desirable collector’s piece at a very reasonable price.

Era: Victorian/Edwardian

Wearability Condition: Not recommended due to delicacy and historical value.
