Done in glittering translucent beads with opaque beads for accent, this stunning purse depicts a very desirable scene.

A lovely young maiden sits with bouffant skirt. At her feet is a stunning peacock. They are both looking at each other, the peacock with it’s royal gaze and regal countenance and the girl with sweetness and love of animals of any kind.

The colors in the peacock are tremendously bright and are done in both opaque and translucent beads.

The detail is good from the girls necklace to the flowers on the weeping tree they sit under.

This purse is adorned with a jeweled frame that includes faux pearls at each corner and the center and olive green oval cabochons to the right and left of center and on the dangle. Sprinkled among them are two cut glass, bezel set amethyst and ruby colored stones. The top push button clasp is adorned with another faux pearl.

I see no repairs, holes, loose or missing beads. The purse is fully attached to the frame which snaps shut securely.

The fringe is full and perfect.

The lining is an ivory silk trimmed in lacy gold with green accents….simply lovely.

Measures 7” across the frame and 10 ¾” from top of clasp to tip of fringe.

Era: Victorian/Edwardian

Wearability Condition: Could be carried but not recommended due to delicacy and historical value.
