I call this The Trio
Here’s where the question lies.
Is this a young man wooing his young lady with her mother looking on as chaperone….OR….is it the infamous “love triangle” with two women vying for the same man?
I prefer the former to the latter.
The girl in blue has eyes cast up to her mother as if seeking approval. The expression on her face is sweet and naïve.
Her mother is looking down as if to say “You are still too young!”
The odd thing is that I've seen this design several times but only with ONE woman, that being the one in the red!
This is a large and colorful purse with both matte and sparkling glass beads.
The detail is tremendous in the period costumes and facial expressions.
Just as detailed is the foliage and background building.
Turquoise and teal and mauve and pink as well as too many other colors to count make this purse a prize for any collector.
I see no loose or missing beads. No holes or repairs. The purse is securely attached to the frame which is straight and closes securely.
The gorgeous lush fringe is perfect.
The lining is a lovely pocketed creamy raw silk trimmed with jewel-toned flowers.
The silver colored frame is heavily embellished with large roses and a sway.
Measures an ample 7 ½ inches across the frame and 11 ¼ inches from top of clasp to tip of fringe.
Simply stunning!
