Highly collectible vintage angel and devil brooches signed Tortolani. Designed to be worn on the shoulder. " The legend is that you put an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other to allow you to send signals of your mood when out with your significant other." As stated in Marcia "Sparkles" Brown's book "Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry." I photographed the brooches from different angles so you will have an idea of the depth of these pieces. The angel has baby blue rhinestone eyes, sparkling aurora borealis rhinestones adorn the halo, and it measures about 1-1/2" tall by 1-1/4" wide. The devil has baby blue rhinestone eyes as well, holds a pitchfork, and measures about 1-1/4" by 1-1/4". The depth on both pieces is about 3/4", both are finished in an antiqued, brushed gold tone, and in excellent condition. The back of the devil shows minor wear to the gold tone. What a quirky little gift this makes!
