Exquisite Diamond Ring of 1.3 carats

Only an eye for elegance and design could create a ring such as this. An old European cut diamond of an estimated 1.3 carats (color J-K and clarity SI1-SI2) takes her rightful position stage front. The intricately designed platinum mount provides a supporting cast of an additional twelve (12) round single cut diamonds (with a total estimated diamond weight of .15 carats) ensconced around the entire setting. A duo flanks each side of the center diamond; triangular shoulders are each set with another gem as a triad of these wonders caresses both the top and bottom of the gallery. Niches, angles and lines full with sparkling brilliant gems with an estimated total diamond weight of a grand 1.45 carats all glittering within a cool as ice platinum metal setting.

Condition: Excellent

Hallmarks: platinum; the number “12” which is most likely a design number.

Measurements: Just shy of 7/16 of an inch (1 cm) north to south on the finger by 5/8 of an inch (1.6 cm) from diamond area to diamond area in width. This ring has a weight of 4.9 grams (3.2 dwt). Currently a size US 7-1/2 (UK O-1/2; Euro 17.75, 56 mm) and can be easily sized up or down.

Date: Central diamond is early 20th century; mount and accent stones are mid to late 20th century.

Note: All diamond weights, color grades and clarity are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
