A super and very rare early piece of green pressed glass. It stands almost 12 inches tall and is 6 inches in diameter at the widest. The pattern is called "Salamander" and has a salamander or lizard on each side. The part that looks like a single epergne flute/horn/lily has molded threading all over its length. The item is molded as one massive piece of glass, but the "epergne flute" looks as if it is sitting in the base as a single epergne lily would. A clear glass version of this piece is pictured on page 169 of Edwards and Carwile's 1999, "Pressed Glass 1860 - 1930." The maker is unknown, however the flora-form base is used on many pieces by Davidson (English), so the Davidson glass makers would be my best guess. In 40 years of collecting and selling antique glass I have seen only one other of these in clear glass. I have never before run across one in green. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks or other damage.
The vase will be shipped via USPS Priority mail with insurance. Check below the picture for the domestic shipping charge. International customers, please inquire about availability and cost of insured shipping to your location.
