REDUCED Josef Originals Birthday Angel "Sweet 16"

Measuring approximately 6" x 5 1/2", this Josef Originals "Sweet 16" is a brown eyed, browish -blonde haired beauty with a head full of curls. Her wings are tipped in gold edging and she carries a bouquet of three roses which seem to say,"I Love You." One of her arms is gracefully lifted until a slightly tilted down chin as if to say about the flowers, "Are these for me?" This angel holds all the idealism and promises of the year ahead--beauty and youth, innocence and the possibility of first love. This is the young girl now on her way to becoming a young woman. She is marked Josef Originals in handwritten script on the bottom on the piece. She is in excellent condition. Two edges of one flower are rubbed off a bit, but it is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece.

Please note: This is NOT the item that is being reissued and sold in the 2000's in stores and or websites. This angel is from 1982. I was at the party she was given--and I purchased her from that friend when she was liquidating to move. It went from the box to a high shelf in her room with 15 others at the time and did not move until she left the house after her wedding. Feel free to go to the Josef's site and see the new one and compare. The style of the new is lack lustre and everything from the graceful curve of the arm that you can see on my pictures to the size of the flowers to the facial features are elongated or distorted. The black eyed beauties are from the 1950's and 1960's, the brown eyed girls(like this one) are from 1982-1985, the new ones have red eyes (go figure on that one).
