This is an extremely rare FINE ART example of one of the greatest porcelain artists and art teachers to emerge within the last two centuries. Original handpainted and signed works by Marshall Fry are nearly impossible to discover. This GRAPES MASTERPIECE is one of the finest examples of Fry's work which we have ever seen, and also one of the finest antique porcelain art hand-paintings of GRAPES which we have ever seen. Photographs of this naturalistic impressionistic antique china painting of TRANSLUCENT GRAPES will be studied by modern china artists for years to come. The artistry within its overglaze surface is absolute perfection, by the hand of a monumental artist who had an enormous influence in the American art world during the late 19th Century and early 20th Century. Next to Old Masters Franz Bischoff, Franz Aulich, and George Leykauf, Marshal Fry was one of the most preeminent artists of his time, and his original signed paintings are very highly collectible works of investment art for the connoisseur collector of American antique porcelain art. This a large, beautifully shaped antique Limoges Tray which measures 16" x 14-1/2". It bears a JPL Limoges France porcelain /pottery hallmark in green.
