~Rosenquist Art-Porcelains~ many exquisite 'One-of-a-Kind' Masterpieces Handpainted over a Century ago by Victorian Artists
Very Rare example of the floral artwork of the great 1800s china artist PAUL PUTZKI on an elegant Victorian Rosenthal pieced fan dish, delicately hand-painted with Putzki's 'DOUBLE VIOLETS'. Please note the understated gray fern like shadow leaves, so typical of Putzki's florals, which can also be seen in our concurrently listed Orchids china paintings also by PUTZKI. The artist's initials: "PP" are seen clearly within this china painting in Putzki's delicate block-style penmanship. The palette is a blend of pastels, from soft mint green and palest blue to the variegated greens of the foliage to the lavender and deep purple of the violets, which gently fades into the soft gray-violet tones of the fernlike shadow leaves. It is hand-painted on a beautiful irregularly shaped Rosenthal fan bowl or dish (in the shape of a Victorian fan). Please notice the right side of the fan bowl is pierced along the border, which also contains beautiful scroll shaped raised relief detail within the porcelain itself. The work is diminutive in size at 6" in diameter, but the elegant shape of the bowl and delicacy of the Violets painting and ultimately the initials of a famous artist make this a rare treasure for admirers of Putzki's artwork. Condition: Excellent. Bears the Rosenthal RC underglaze mark and words 'Savoy Germany' underneath which indicate the Rosenthal porcelain pottery factory. Please be sure to see our other available works by this artist on antique Limoges.
