~Rosenquist Art-Porcelains~ many exquisite 'One-of-a-Kind' Masterpieces Handpainted over a Century ago by Victorian Artists
'TRAILS of BABY TEA ROSES' handpainted upon an antique Limoges Floral Art Dresser Tray, in the classic quatrefoil (four-lobed) shape, circa 1900, completely and expertly handpainted by a superbly talented late 19th Century American Victorian Period porcelain artist, or early 20th Century Edwardian china painter.
A quatrefoil shape suits this very pretty roses tray well. Against a background of lemon-lime hues trails a garland of ruby and pink tea roses, nestled in dark green foliage and connected by graceful stems. Silver blue-gray 'shadow' leaves add depth to this piece and show the darker blooms to their best advantage, lifting them to the forefront with near three-dimensional effect. This would be a lovely accent piece in a boudoir or on a tea table. With its bold and cheerful palette, it will add a dramatic splash of color wherever it is displayed.
Excellent condition. Sterling investment quality Art-Porcelain, with the burnished Coin Gold gilded edges intact, and with the century-old china painting perfectly preserved within a lustrous glass overglaze finish. When tapped with our china tester pin, it rings crystal clear like a bell! 12" LONG x 9-1/2" WIDE ANTIQUE HANDPAINTED LIMOGES DRESSER TRAY or VINTAGE FRENCH TEA SERVICE TRAY. Bears a HAVILAND FRANCE pottery hallmark in green.
WHAT IS LIMOGES? The Rosenquist Collection is often asked this question by visitors who are yet unfamiliar with this beautiful old artform upon vintage French porcelain. Over the last several generations, exquisitely hand painted porcelains became a somewhat forgotten artform, which is now gaining a world-wide appreciative audience once again, and is becoming very highly collectible as an arts & collectibles investment. The key to investment success, and also to acquiring the most beautiful collection, is to only invest in the very highest quality of artwork available, and to avoid anything less. This, in the long run, will give the greatest return on investment, as is true with all art and antiques investments. Inferior quality investments may cost less, but they always appreciate much less as well.
