~Rosenquist Art-Porcelains~ many exquisite 'One-of-a-Kind' Masterpieces Handpainted over a Century ago by Victorian Artists
RARE FRENCH TRAY w SINGLE ARCH HANDLE
'SINGLE PETALED PINK ROSES & BLUE FORGET-ME-NOTS'. A perfect combination of the most delicately china painted floral artistry upon the most delicate of vintage French porcelain molds: an antique hand painted Limoges Floral Art Dresser Tray w Single Arched Handle, in the classical shape of an acanthus leaf. Circa 1896, this china art heirloom was completely handpainted, well over a century ago, by a very talented late 19th Century American Victorian Period china painter, or early 20th Century Edwardian porcelain artist. The mold itself is very uncommon, and consists of concave fluted edges at the far end opposite the arched handle, as well as rococo raised-relief acanthus leaf scrollwork along the tray edges. It is perfect for display in a lady's boudoir as a jewelry or brooch pin tray, but would be equally at home as part of an Afternoon Tea Set for service of bonbons, cookies and sweets. In fact, its adaptability makes it suitable for display in almost any interior decorating situation.
Such a pretty tray for dresser or nightstand! The unusual mold is painted with a soft mint green and blush pink background, against which rest two bouquets of pink wild roses and blue forget-me-nots. The molded handle carries a single rose bloom as well. Enhanced with raised relief scrolls along its irregularly scalloped edge, this cheerful colors-of-Springtime tray will liven any setting.

'WHAT IS LIMOGES?' The Rosenquist Collection is often asked this question by visitors who are yet unfamiliar with this beautiful old artform upon vintage French porcelain. Over the last several generations, exquisitely hand painted porcelains became a somewhat forgotten artform, which is now gaining a world-wide appreciative audience once again, and is becoming very highly collectible as an arts & collectibles investment. The key to investment success, and also to acquiring the most beautiful collection, is to only invest in the very highest quality of artwork available, and to avoid anything less. This, in the long run, will give the greatest return on investment, as is true with all art and antiques investments. Inferior quality investments may cost less, but they always appreciate much less as well.
