~Rosenquist Art-Porcelains~ many exquisite 'One-of-a-Kind' Masterpieces Handpainted over a Century ago by Victorian Artists
'VIGNETTE OF DAFFODILS'. A beautifully composed and hand painted antique Limoges Floral Art Plate, circa 1900, completely and expertly handpainted by a very talented late 19th Century American Victorian Period china painter, or Edwardian Era porcelain artist. This is a one-of-a-kind original century-old work of art upon fine French china, of which there is no copy. It is the unique handmade artistry of a highly creative independent artist, not a factory-painted nor a repetitively painted studio-decorated item.
Like a cresting wave against a sea blue sky, these daffodils curl into a wildly graceful arc, baring their faces to the chilly and unseen wind of early Spring. This artist from a Century ago has perfectly captured this beloved perennial's delicate and fragile nature as well as its 'tough-as-nails' character needed to survive the sometimes punishing April weather. The flutter of the petals, especially in the blossom at the bottom and the ones turned away from the viewer, add great motion to this piece, as does the bend in the foliage as this daffodil cluster braves the elements with great faith of warmer days to come. The colors and shadings and unique 'rubbed' effect of the background of this plate are quite unusual, adding to the stormy quality and untamed nature of this lovely Century old painting upon porcelain. We love this piece, and the restless beauty it portrays. It would be an outstanding piece of art to display any setting.
Excellent condition. Sterling investment quality fine Art-Porcelain, with elegant Coin Gold gilded rim perfectly intact, and with the china painting perfectly preserved within a lustrous glass overglaze finish. 8-1/2" FRENCH LIMOGES FLORAL ART PLATE or DECORATIVE ARTS AFTERNOON TEA PLATE.
