Super fabulous Art Nouveau hair comb in honey colored celluloid with over the top gold gilt metal top. The elaborate ornamental gilt metal top is riveted to the celluloid comb, or hair pin really, since it has two prongs. The top is quite heavy but the pin supports the extravagance quite well. Overall the piece measures just over 5 1/2 inches tall, the gilt metal top by itself measures 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Excellent condition with no damage and no breaks or gilt loss. Likely French, circa 1890.
