Exquisite French jewel top vanity in dazzling gold ormolu set with glass sapphire colored stones. Elegant floral repousse work on the jewel top, sides, and back of this beauty. Gilt washed interior features the original vanity mirror framed with braided gilt retaining ring. The mirror has a few spots of silvering as you would expect in a piece of this age. The compact vanity is attached to it's original wrist carry chain. Overall length including the feminine carry chain is 7 3/4". The compact measures 2" in diameter. Excellent condition with only the minor silvering of the mirror noted, no stones missing but they may have been replaced, absolutely no damage to the vanity, it is a fabulous French example circa 1918.
