Wonderful vintage Victorian Revival compact from the 1950's with leaping dolphins. Large, pancake or flapjack compact features a gorgeous embossed pair of dolphins in relief with a classical urn of fruit between them and scrolling acanthus leaves with flowers, all in goldtone on a white backround. Engine turned design on the back. Original mirror, powder puff, and powder sifter. The puff is signed, although faded, Rex Fifth Avenue. The mirror has some very minor silvering around the edges and some discoloration in the center of the mirror, please see photos. The compact measures 4" in diameter and is in very good vintage condition with a push button clasp that works perfectly. Circa 1950, a fabulous example of Victorian Revival.
