Gorgeous framed painting on porcelain. Entitled Pleasant Dreams, this handpainted work of fine art features a beautiful Art Nouveau woman dreaming. This large porcelain plaque measures 8 1/4" in length and 6 1/4" wide, unframed. The frame measures 11" in length and 9" wide. The portrait is beautifully painted, the lady is sleeping on a salmon pillow, she is nude with a gold blanket with gold stars pulled above her breasts. Her peaceful and serene expression tells us she is indeed, having Pleasant Dreams. Extremely unusual genre. The painting is unsigned, (We believe the artist is Lux) it is marked on the back with an unidentified factory mark. The gorgeous gilt gesso frame is original, but has damage at the corners as you can see in the pictures. Even so, this antique gilt frame has value and is well worth restoring if you desire. This masterpiece is stunning, the portrait is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Circa 1900.
