Exquisite Moser Baroque Venetian enamel glass bowl. Portrait of an aristocrat in eighteenth century costume, this bowl is Venetian glass with Baroque Graffito gold scrollwork. It is handpainted with enamel, with raised enamel beading. The male portraits are much less common to find, this one is beautifully painted in great detail. The gentleman holds a walking stick in one hand. He is standing on cobblestones, with birds flying behind him. Unsigned, this blue Venetian glass bowl is shown in the book, Moser Artistic Glass, Edition 2, along with similar examples. It measures 4" in diameter and stands 1 1/2" tall on a small footed base. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or hairlines, minor wear to the gold scrollwork only. Circa 1900.
