This Stevengraph and its companion “The Start” were first shown at the York Exhibition in England. This scene shows the end of a horse race with four horses in the final stretch approaching the finish post. When shown together each title has the competitors’ finish going in the opposite direction from which they started. The mat is original and shows the darkening around the edges as well as some stain. The silk is bright, colorful and clean. The silk measures six inches by two inches. The title label on the back is original and complete. Together the pair is among the most popular of the Stevengraphs.
