Delightful antique Black Forest match holder with bird

Another find from the little antique shop in the Hampton's, this Black Forest match holder is a charmer! Marked Switzerland on the bottom, the carving is just lovely, with the little bird sitting in front of a tree stump, which holds the matches. Beautifully proportioned, it stands 2.5" tall, 4" across and it's 3" in depth. The carving is well done, with lots of intricate detail, you can see the bird's eye and his three little toes. In wonderful condition for it's age, how dear this would be holding matches in a kitchen or on your fireplace mantel.
