When everyone rode horses, every horseman would have a pair of pulls, to aid in getting his legs into his tall boots. This is quite an attractive pair, dating to the early 1900's. The handles are bone, with curved finger grips which assure a comfortable feel in the hand. The shafts are steel, and have a swan neck ending on the pulls, which are quite handy in lacing up your field boots. I use a similar pair myself, and it's so enjoyable to have an elegant touch like this in my riding kit!
These English boot pulls measure just at 9" long and compared to shorter, modern boot pulls, the extra length really adds to their convenience in use. One pull handle has a split and some discoloration on one side, which I've shown in the pictures. While the split does not affect the structural integrity, I have taken both of these small flaws into consideration in the price. Whether for use, or just a decorative accessory on your desk or in your tack room, these are handsome reminders of days gone by.
