An exceptional set of five framed trade cards from 1885, these depict the evil riding horse in all his glory. From scaring pigs to attacking other horses to racing back to his stable, with his rider, this is a delightful portrayal of a horse gone wrong, the horse from hell! I bought this set of cards years ago, and had them matted and framed for my husband's office. As a horse trainer, I felt these wonderful depictions would ring some bells with him! My poor photographs don't do this justice, each trade card is crisp and clear with wonderful colors. Perhaps my favorite is the horse who has decided to throw his rider and enter a building through the window, terrified by the approaching brass band. Measuring 9" wide by 22" in length, it's been custom framed in a multi layer gilt frame with an inner layer of beading. The perfect size for so many places, quite striking, it would make an outstanding gift for the horse trainer or instructor and would look wonderful in a tack room or horseman's office. Please excuse the glare, there is no damage to this whatsoever.
