My most heartfelt thanks for making my first three years on Ruby Lane such a success.
Always a popular image, this is a chromolithograph after Heywood Hardy (1842-1933) entitled "Thoroughbreds" although the title is not on this particular print. A beautiful young woman holds an apple for her equally beautiful horse, while her faithful dogs look on. Handsomely framed, the wood frame has an all over embellishment of scrolling leaves, the frame in very good condition. It has a simple card backing board and a fairly recent wire on the back for hanging, so it's ready to go! Measuring 12" by 14", the frame has depth to it, as I've shown in the picture from the side. A slight ripple to the print, not quite flat, which can only be seen if it's held at the right angle, this is the only flaw I see. A nice early scene, 1900-1910, with gorgeous colors and a fabulous subject.
