A wonderful old cast iron boot scrape, this one an Airedale Terrier. In super condition, it's solid, heavy and sturdy, weighing in at nearly four pounds, and dates to the early part of the twentieth century, c. 1900-1910. Four holes for mounting, curved upright stanchions topped with ball finials, the cross bar or blade for getting the mud off those boots. While still useful today for its original purpose, it's a fabulous decorative piece, measuring 7.25" across, 7" tall and a bit over 3.5" wide at the base. Some chipping to the paint of the dog, standing proud at the center of the boot scrape. With a showy stance, it's easy to see why the Airedale is called the King of the Terriers. Quite useful still, elegant as a doorstop, a lovely old piece for any dog lover.
