REDUCED Antique lap robe, sleigh blanket with fabulous terrier dog

What a great old buggy blanket this is, with a central medallion featuring a wonderfully handsome terrier. I'm thinking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or a Pit Bull type, although I suppose it could be a Boston Terrier. With upright, cropped ears, he wears a heavy, studded color and looks out from the lap robe with a most stately expression. Glorious red roses adorn the blanket, which is most likely a Stroock or a Chase, although it no longer has the tag. These wonderful old textiles are made of wool and horse hair, and were meant to keep the chill off during the horse and buggy days. Dating to the 1890-1920 period, it measures 56" by 47", and it is in very good condition for its age, with just some minor wear, mostly to an edge here or there. The back side has a center seam down it, although it doesn't appear to be an old repair. I've also shown one spot of wear on the backside, which obviously doesn't show on the front. A terrific old robe, perfect for the back of a sofa, or to hang on the wall, these are getting so hard to find with good images of horses or dogs. A real find, this old Victorian lap robe is simply stunning, and so perfect for the dog lover!
