Victorian sterling silver brooch, flower basket in horse shoe, 1900

Another lovely old pin from England, this one a flower basket set atop a horseshoe. Fully hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling, the mark for Chester, the date letter for 1900 and the makers mark of AJC, which stands for Alfred James Cheshire. Fabulous cannonball adornments encircle the horse shoe, the basket having a wonderful woven look. A simple C clasp, the bright cut brooch measures 1" from top to bottom, side to side, and it is in very good condition, a floral motif combined with the equestrian feel.
