It's always fun when I find something that combines my two loves, horses and dogs. This old set of cufflinks was a great find on my recent trip to South Florida. The links are a nice brass tone with an aged and mellow patina. The top shows a raised dog head surrounded by a raised horseshoe. The dog appears to be a hound, and with the horseshoe motif that makes sense--a perfect pair for the fox hunter. They're a great size, measuring just under 1" in diameter. The backs have a little play to them, but they're quite secure, and I'm not certain the little wiggle isn't they way they were made. A nice old pair of cufflinks, probably 1930's or a bit later, ideal for the equestrian.
