Glass : Fox Hunting

 

Here is a vintage set of four stemmed glasses with a fox hunting scene on them. The scarlet coated rider is mounted on his gray horse, taking a brush jump, with the hounds in hot pursuit of the fox. This set of four has a gilt edged rim on both the top and bottom of the glass, with a handsome stem. These low sherbets would be wonderful for cordials or champagne or cocktails. While these are unmarked, I have the same pattern in other glasses which have the F in a shield, for Federal Glass. A bit of wear to the gold, they measure 4" tall, 3.25" in diameter at the lip. I've just purchased a collection of foxhunting glasses, so do see the others I will be adding to my shop.
