Another scarce and hard to find Johnson Brothers piece from my personal collection, this is a teapot in their "Coaching Scenes" pattern. While the blue "Coaching Scenes" pattern is readily available, the brown is rarely seen, especially in this country. Later renditions of this pattern, in the other colors, also had "Hunting Country" marked on the base. Made in England, it shows a coach, drawn by four flying horses, galloping through a village. Elaborately decorated on lid, spout and handle, the lid has a charming finial on top. A rather large teapot, it measures a bit over 7" tall, and it's 10" from spout to handle, with the body and lid having an overall swirled effect beneath the transfer decoration. In lovely condition for its age, it has no chips, cracks or repairs, there is just a bit of crazing here and there, befitting its age and a very small stain in the interior bottom. A gorgeous addition to your brown transferware, I'm selling this only because I have a too large collection of hunting and coaching china.
