This is such a fabulous book, a wonderful reference for anyone who loves dogs, especially ideal for the collector of old dog treasures. A large, coffee table book, it offers a glimpse into the lives and collections of various dog lovers throughout the United States. In 400 color photographs, you can visit Brooke Astor's Holly Hill and the home of designer Carolyne Roehm. Take a walk down the hollowed paths of the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, established in 1896. Spend a day with the Cheshire Fox Hounds and the Virginia Foxhound Show. Get a glimpse inside the incredible library of the American Kennel Club, or see an exceptional collection of privately owned antique dog collars. And so much more, I just can't list it all. I have this wonderful book in my own collection, and return to it again and again, sometimes to browse, sometimes for information on various canine antiques. The book is in nice condition, a bit of edge wear to the dust jacket, it measures 12" by 9.25", with 232 pages, including an extensive resource list of dog art galleries, boutiques and dealers in antiques and collectibles.
