Fully hallmarked, this unusual brooch has the lion passant for sterling, the marks for Chester, the date letter for 1887 and the makers mark H&N for Hollis and Newman. Antique sterling silver pin or brooch, horseshoe and flowers, 1896

$68 USDAntique sterling silver pin or brooch, horseshoe and flowers, 1896

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
A sporting pin from England, done in sterling silver, this old brooch features a central horse shoe accented with a floral theme at each end. I believe the flowers to be ivy or forget me nots, but I'm much better at horse and dog breeds than I am at flowers. Fully hallmarked, it has the lion passant for sterling, the mark for Chester, and the date letter N for 1896. There is a maker's mark, but I am unable to decipher it. As you can tell, I've not given it much of a polish, leaving the new owner ...

$65 USDAntique 1896 sterling silver and rose gold pin or brooch, swallow

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This Victorian sterling silver brooch is beautifully shaped and adorned with a raised central image of a bird and forget me nots, which has a rose gold wash. A delightful sweetheart brooch which shows the Victorians love of symbolism, signifying happiness, good fortune and eternal devotion. It has four beaded cannonballs as well, all in lovely condition. I've only given this old piece the lightest of polishes, just to show the details, as I never know how bright a new owner will want something. ...

SOLDSOLD Antique Greyhound dog in horseshoe brooch, Victorian 800 silver

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
A most unique brooch or pin, this fabulous old piece features a Greyhound dog racing through a horse shoe. Testing at 800 silver, it has a simple C clasp on the reverse, with no markings that I can find. The dog wears a collar and he is a male. There is a hollow at his eye socket, difficult to tell if perhaps there was a jewel there at one time. Quite a charming old brooch with an equestrian interest, so fun to find a great old Greyhound pin. Measurements are 1.50" by about 1.25", with the clasp ...
