Vintage 1940's Lang sterling silver swan with crown pin or brooch

$39 USDVintage 1940's Lang sterling silver swan with crown pin or brooch

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
She's elegant, with just a touch of the adorable, a queen of a swan done in sterling silver by Lang. She's actually the logo of the Lang Sterling Company, and she dates to the late 1940's or early 50's. Her long, graceful neck leads to a body that is three dimensional, with her two wings formed and attached to her body, her paddling feet trail out below. In excellent condition, she measures 1.75" from the top of her crown to her feet, and about 1" across at her body. This regal beauty will come ...
Vintage Lang sterling silver race horse and jockey pin, 1950's

$42 USDVintage Lang sterling silver race horse and jockey pin, 1950's

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
Another outstanding piece from the Lang Sterling Company, this is a dynamic race horse flying along with his jockey in the saddle. So detailed, you can see the tendons in his legs, the jockey's face, it's typical of the Lang excellence. Tail flying, head up, ears back listening to his rider, the horse shows beautiful musculature and action. Measuring a bit over 2.25" across and a little over 1.5" tall, it's in excellent condition, and one of the more difficult Lang pins to find. A superb old ...
Antique mother of pearl stick pin, horse head

$49 USDAntique mother of pearl stick pin, horse head

Jewelry:Vintage:Pins/Brooches
An elegant stickpin, from Victorian or Edwardian times, featuring a bridled horse head, this is done in mother of pearl. Brass forms the bridle, reins and bit on the horse, quite well done, this dates to the early 1900's. The stick pin itself is about 2.75", with the horse head a bit under .5" from front to back. Delicate and charming, the back ear has a little loss to the tip and the pin could use a cleaning, which I will leave to the new owner.

An impressive piece, it is 1.5" from front paws to top of head, 1.75" wide, from rear paws to tip of nose. The safety clasp is in good working order, it's a fab find for any dog lover.
REDUCED Antique pin or brooch, three horseshoes, hoof, riding crop

$35 USD ReducedREDUCED Antique pin or brooch, three horseshoes, hoof, riding crop

Jewelry:Vintage
An unusual old brooch or pin, English of course, with an interesting equestrian motif. Three horse shoes are set upon a hunting whip, with the long lash entwined around the shaft. The handle of the whip is a horse leg, beautifully detailed, you can see the hair as it goes down to the hoof. The central shoe is larger, flanked by two smaller shoes. Silver in tone, with brass on the crop shaft and a brass backing, I can find no marks anywhere. There is a C clasp and a somewhat primitive hinge, ...
Antique 1887 sterling silver pin or brooch, unicorn in a horseshoe

$78 USDAntique 1887 sterling silver pin or brooch, unicorn in a horseshoe

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
At first, I thought this was a horse, but on closer inspection, I realized it was a unicorn, how fabulous! A long wavy mane, exotic head and single horn between his ears, our mystical unicorn is lovely! He is set inside a horseshoe, complete with nails and toe clip. Fully hallmarked, this unusual brooch has the lion passant for sterling, the marks for Chester, the date letter for 1887 and the makers mark H&N for Hollis and Newman. Antique bridle rosette pin or brooch, jumping horse

$46 USDAntique bridle rosette pin or brooch, jumping horse

Jewelry:Vintage
Another attractive bridle rosette that has been transformed into a fabulous piece of jewelry, this one features a horse and his rider taking a fence. Perhaps they are out foxhunting, or perhaps it is a scene from a long ago horse show. The domed glass is in excellent shape, the rosette has a brass bezel and back to which a pin was added some time ago. Measuring 1.75" in diameter, the magnification from the camera gives a crackled look in spots, which don't show in real life. And do please ...

Antique sterling silver pin or brooch, horseshoe and flowers, 1896

$68 USDAntique sterling silver pin or brooch, horseshoe and flowers, 1896

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
A sporting pin from England, done in sterling silver, this old brooch features a central horse shoe accented with a floral theme at each end. I believe the flowers to be ivy or forget me nots, but I'm much better at horse and dog breeds than I am at flowers. Fully hallmarked, it has the lion passant for sterling, the mark for Chester, and the date letter N for 1896. There is a maker's mark, but I am unable to decipher it. As you can tell, I've not given it much of a polish, leaving the new owner ...
Vintage Vulcain pocket watch, fabulous stag hunting scene

$65 USDVintage Vulcain pocket watch, fabulous stag hunting scene

Jewelry:Vintage:Watches
I spotted this on a trip to Oklahoma last year, and walked away, as I know little about pocket watches. But its beauty kept drawing me back, so I had to have it. Made by Vulcain, a company that started in 1858 in Switzerland, it's just stunning. The case is exquisitely decorated, so do have a look at all the pictures. The front shows a raised scene of stag hunting, the deer leaping away from the hunters with their guns while the back is etched in a delicate floral motif. Such attention to detail ...
Pair of sterling silver prancing horse earrings

$17 USDPair of sterling silver prancing horse earrings

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
Such beautiful horses here, elegant dished faces, long flowing manes, high carried tails--they must be Arabians. Each of these high stepping horses is marked SIM on the reverse, along with an impressed mark of 925. The hoops are also marked 925, with a another mark that appears to be sMl. Honestly, it's just too small for my eyes to catch, even with a loupe. The horses measure about .75" across, and there is a little crimp in one of the hoops, which doesn't show when they are on, nor does it ...
REDUCED Antique bridle rosette, fox hunter on horse, pin or brooch

$44 USD ReducedREDUCED Antique bridle rosette, fox hunter on horse, pin or brooch

Jewelry:Vintage
These rosettes were made to adorn a horse's bridle, back in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. This one has been made into a pin, and shows a red coated foxhunter taking a fence on his horse, whip in hand. With a good green background, with a bit of iridescence, it's a striking piece at 1.75" in diameter. My photographs make it look a bit grainy, because of the close ups, but it isn't at all. These are lovely on a lapel or at the throat of a blouse, wonderful on a velvet ribbon around the neck ...

$29 USD ReducedREDUCED Antique porcelain pin or brooch with romantic scene

Jewelry:Vintage
Another recent arrival from my English shipment, this is a lovely old ceramic brooch with a romantic scene of a lady and her gentleman. It's round, and and impressive size at 1.5" in diameter. It's set in a silver tone metal bezel which is nicely engraved--due to the quality of the workmanship on this, I think it may be sterling, but I haven't tested it. The back features a simple C clasp and I can find no markings on it anywhere. The image is much crisper than my photographs, with the colors ...

$65 USDAntique 1896 sterling silver and rose gold pin or brooch, swallow

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian
This Victorian sterling silver brooch is beautifully shaped and adorned with a raised central image of a bird and forget me nots, which has a rose gold wash. A delightful sweetheart brooch which shows the Victorians love of symbolism, signifying happiness, good fortune and eternal devotion. It has four beaded cannonballs as well, all in lovely condition. I've only given this old piece the lightest of polishes, just to show the details, as I never know how bright a new owner will want something. ...

Vintage dog in horseshoes cuff links

$32 USDVintage dog in horseshoes cuff links

Jewelry:Vintage:Cuff Links
It's always fun when I find something that combines my two loves, horses and dogs. This old set of cufflinks was a great find on my recent trip to South Florida. The links are a nice brass tone with an aged and mellow patina. The top shows a raised dog head surrounded by a raised horseshoe. The dog appears to be a hound, and with the horseshoe motif that makes sense--a perfect pair for the fox hunter. They're a great size, measuring just under 1" in diameter. The backs have a little play to them ...

Vintage pair of double horse head earrings

$16 USDVintage pair of double horse head earrings

Jewelry:Vintage
Two horse heads are each framed by a horseshoe on this sweet set of vintage earrings. They are a silver tone, and while they polished up nicely, I can't find any marking to say that they are sterling. Dating to the 1940's or so, these screw back earrings are in very good condition, and measure just under one inch across.
Vintage pair of sterling silver bow earrings

$16 USDVintage pair of sterling silver bow earrings

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
A pair of sweet little bow earrings, with screw backs, both marked sterling. The silver "ribbon" is tied in a soft bow, with a knot at the center, with the ends of the ribbon done in a decorative manner. I cleaned them up just a bit to take the photographs, but you could polish them to a shiny brightness if you desired. They measure about .75" long, .5" wide, and they are in lovely condition for their age, 1930's to early 1950's. Besides wearing them in the normal fashion, I like to attach screw ...

Vintage sterling silver horse and sulky driver pin brooch

$59 USDVintage sterling silver horse and sulky driver pin brooch

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
This is such an elegant brooch, with a great three dimensional look to it. Marked sterling, it shows a fancy horse being driven to a two wheeled cart. The horse has the beautiful neck and face of an Arabian or a Morgan, with the high set docked tail of a Hackney. I love the high wheels on the sulky, with the driver sitting between the two wheels. There are even two shafts alongside the horse, adding terrific depth to the pin and the appearance of the buggy. Measuring 1.5" by 3/4" at the wheels, ...

Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
Beautifully made, this Continental pin depicts a horse standing on grass, done in sterling silver. Unmarked, it does test as sterling, and the detail on this pin is just lovely. You can see the musculature in the shoulders and neck, the tendons in the legs, the wavy hair in the mane, the rocks and blades of grass on the ground. It looks much like an old time image of an English Thoroughbred, although it is certainly European, most likely French. The pin is secured with a trombone clasp, quite ...

SOLDSOLD Vintage horseshoe and riding whip pin or brooch

Jewelry:Vintage
A lovely equestrian piece here, a horse shoe over set with a riding crop, the lash entwined around the stock or shaft of the whip. Great detail on this early 20th century pin and a wonderful dimensional look, with the nails raised from the surface of the shoe. The lash of the crop is textural as well, giving the impression of a braided piece. No markings that I can find on this old silver tone piece, c. 1900 to 1920, with its simple C clasp and barrel hinge. Quite substantial, it measures 1" top ...
