Another lovely pair of boot pulls, these of bone in a barrel shape. A gorgeous patina on the bone, a mellow ivory color acquired over the years. The steel shanks are 6" long, showing some surface rust, with the boot pulls overall 7" in length, the barrels 3" wide, about an inch in diameter. An English pair, and so marked, they are Victorian, from the time when everyone rode horses, so everyone needed something to help them pull on their boots. What a wonderful old find this was, a ladies sandwich case or canteen used in the foxhunting field and nowadays in the horse show ring. The leather case is in good condition, with all the straps present and accounted for, the stitching tight and secure, with the leather having a lovely patina. Inside it is divided for the sandwich box and a glass flask, which is sadly missing, but replaceable.
