Signed William Hair Haseler- Ornate English Arts & Crafts period sterling silver hand chased (engraved) cigarette case, curved to the body shape. A small size, for the hand rolled variety. Fits neatly in the palm of the hand, a wonderful discreet size. Case measures 2-11/16" x 3-1/16". Interior has original gilt satin frosted finish, patina intact. Original cloth ribbon retainer straps. Holds shorts or hand rolled. Birmingham Assay Offices, fully hallmarked, maker marked "WHH". Circa 1919 according to "International Hallmarks on Silver" Collected by Tardy page 251. In excellent condition with very slight age appropriate wear. $9.95 US ship/insure.

About the maker: W.H. Haseler, Jeweler of 8 Hylton Street- Birmingham, England. Goldsmiths, Silver smiths and jewelers, founded in 1870 by William Hair Haseler. The firm of Haseler & Co went into formal partnership with Liberty & Co when the two firms joined forces to launch the Cymric silver scheme under the title Liberty & Co (Cymric) Ltd.
