Here is another sweet etching by Chicago Artist, Margaret Ann Gaug. It features a young girl, seated on a wooden chair. Her dolls are at her feet as she works hard, sewing clothes for them.

The etching is in its original frame that measures 11.75" x 11.75". The visible image measures 4.5" x 5.25"

Margaret Ann Gaug (1909-1983) was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Prairie Printmakers of California and Illinois. Her exhibitions included the Chicago Society of Etchers and a solo show in 1941 at the Smithsonian Institution. Margaret Ann Gaug, was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Prairie Printmakers of California and Illinois. She is known for her decorations, illustrative art, as well as her etchings. Gaug first began to exhibit her art in 1945. After, she illustrated books and designed greeting cards. She won awards from the Chicago Society of Etchers in 1950 and 1955. Several major institutions, now include Gaug’s etchings in their permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Brussels Museum of Fine Arts, Belgium, the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.
