Offered is a sweet etching of a young girl entitled Michael Susan by noted illustrator Margaret Ann Gaug. It features a young girl in fancy dress. Perched on her head is a hat with a large bow. She is seat on the edge of a fine chair, her gloved hands placed on her knees.

It is in it's original frame that measures 14.75" x 10.75" and the visible etching is approximately 8.5" x 5".

Margaret Ann Gaug (1909-1983) was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Prairie Printmakers of California and Illinois. Her exhibitions included the Chicago Society of Etchers and a solo show in 1941 at the Smithsonian Institution. Margaret Ann Gaug, was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Prairie Printmakers of California and Illinois. She is known for her decorations, illustrative art, as well as her etchings. Gaug first began to exhibit her art in 1945. After, she illustrated books and designed greeting cards. She won awards from the Chicago Society of Etchers in 1950 and 1955. Several major institutions, now include Gaug’s etchings in their permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Brussels Museum of Fine Arts, Belgium, the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.
