This Etching titled “Cedarburg Bridge” is number 7 of 50 that Max Fernekes produced. Having been inspired by his surrounding environment Max would replicate what he saw in his artwork including local bridges such as this one. Max has treated the etching so it has an organic and structured feel at the same time. There is a lot detail and fine line work that is balanced out by the negative space of the paper giving the picture a calming feel. It has been professionally framed and matted. The frame dimensions are 14 1/8” W x 11 7/8” H, and the inner window is 9” W x 6 ½” H. This etching is most likely from the mid 1900’s.
