Pristine 1880's Two Piece Cotton Bustle Visiting Dress

A wonderful two piece 1880's cotton bustle visiting dress. Eminently wearable in a large size with an interesting print and in the best of conditions. The condition is quite amazing actually, looking exactly like it did the last time the original owner took it off I would say. Technically I grade it EX/NM with only two small issues knocking it out of the solid NM/never worn category.

First, there is a touch of wear to the gauze trim attached to the collar and second, there is a touch of underarm discoloration.... But that is it! Amazingly, there is not a single hole, spot(age or otherwise), stain, tear, split or any other blemish to be found. The fabric is completely wear free and super sturdy with the waist band and its hook showing no signs of stress or use and even the bottom edge of the skirt hem looks clean and fresh as new with no edge wear whatsoever. The bodice closes in front with brass hooks and all are present and firmly attached with no surrounding wear or stressing. The skirt is unlined and the bodice is backed with white muslin with no boning.

Outside measurements of: 36" bust, 28" waist, 15" across the shoulders, 22" from shoulder seam to sleeve cuff and 40" from waist band to bottom of front hem.
