George III St George and the Dragon enamelled crown pin

I have seen several of these kind of pins, but never have I seen such detailed enamelling. This silver English crown was turned into a lovely pin by enamelling the front and applying a pin and catch at the back. The style of the t hinge and c catch tells me that this was done early, probably in the 1830's.There is a safety catch bale for a chain that was soldered and unfortunately it was put right where the date would be. I would say the date is approximately 1810. The enamelling was done by a master! There is such detail on every where on the piece, especially on the scales of the dragon. The condition of the enamel is good with no enamel loss. The pin is 1 1/2 inches across. George III was the Crazy George, a very interesting figure in history!
