There so much that I don't know about this lovely ring: What does the hallmark "IL" mean? Is the purple stone amethyst or glass? When was it made? I do know a few things: It is sterling, marked as such, along with "925." It is a size 8. It is beautiful in all of its marcasite, sterling, and gold-washed glory.
