10" Rare Antique French Cut Glass & Gilt Bronze Page Turner in Box Lovely Green Color

Rare antique French Napoleon III era solid cut glass page turner mounted with a gilt ormolu reticulated handle in Empire style décor of a central Grecian wreath accented by ribbon and framed by ornate scrolling foliate, acanthus leaves and rocailles. A wonderful piece, the glass is a gorgeous emerald green color and housed in an old box. These glass page turners were used as a way of preventing the oil on hands from getting onto the pages of old antique documents and books. This piece is a must have, great to add to any desk set collection of inkwells or other writing pieces.

In good condition, with two small nips to the bottom edge of the glass (visible in the close-up photos). The box shows wear commensurate with age.
