Dressed in a bright blue military band regalia edged in gold gilt, the monkey sits with a marching drum at his lap and a drumstick in hand. With his sheets of music held out in front of him, our monkey friend looks posed and focus to play his way through the circus! Clad in a studded brown collar, the dog appears to be a type of grey hound, wearing what appears to be a slight smile to his/her serene countenance.
Applied porcelain flowers and foliate adorn the base. Marked with a pair of crossed arrows between Porcelaine de Paris and Made in France for Bourdois & Bloch, founded in 1887 in Paris.
The figurine is in very good condition, one chip is located on the very end of the monkey's drumstick.
Piece measures 6 3/8" tall x 6 1/8" in length.
