French Limoges Enamel Portrait Miniature Gilt Ormolu Frame

A stunning 19th century French Limoges enamel on copper portrait depicting a lady with flowing blonde hair. Her colorful gown and hairpiece are all done in enameled foil. At the edge is a signature, however it is difficult to decipher. The portrait is surrounded by a brocaded fabric mat and housed in an ornate gilt ormolu frame. Has a metal easel for table top display as well as a loop for hanging. In wonderful condition with only light wear to the fabric lining both the front and the back from age. Portrait measures 2 1/4" in diameter. Frame measures 5 1/4" in total height x 3 7/8" in width.
