A lovely Victorian visiting or calling card case covered with luminous mother of pearl and abalone shell inlay. Absolutely spectacular iridescence to the pearl and abalone, just a variety of colors when the piece is held to light as both front and back of the case are beautifully decorated with an inlaid Harlequin pattern. Has a push-button closer and good hinge, closes properly with a nice 'click'. Circa. 1880. In wonderful condition for its age, the side panel right below the push button has a crack to it. The case measures about 3 1/2" in height by about 2" in width.
