A delightful pair of antique French Lemaire mother of pearl mechanical opera glasses with extending and detachable lorgnette handle. Beautiful mother of pearl panels surround both the handle and the binoculars in a bright hue. The mechanism on this pair is truly a work of art, you can extend and detach the lorgnette handle or use it for focusing the binocular barrels as well! Marking the binoculars are patent numbers as well as the small Lemaire bee logo. The same Lemaire bee trademark is also marked on the base of the handle. The eyepieces are marked Lemaire Paris.

In wonderful condition for its age with clear lenses and nice focusing.

The full length of the opera glasses, from eye barrel to the tip of the lorgnette handle, is about 6 1/8".

When the lorgnette handle is extended the length is 9 3/8".

The binoculars alone measure about 3 7/8" in width from barrel to barrel, about 2 1/4" in height and can extend to a height of about 2 7/8" in height.
