On ivory, this lovely antique miniaturist painting of a woman in three quarter view is quite unusual. Unusual because of the view and the subject matter - musical - playing the harp. Beautifully rendered. Her name is Mlle de Veirreres (hand written on the backside of the wafer). Beautifully detailing of the face, hair and hands. It measures approx. 3 3/8" long. The frame is 4.5" x 5.25". The artist's signature appears to be Lope (with an accent mark on the last e). Ca. late 1800-early 1900's. The frame is a velvet (caramel colored) with beveled glass affixed. Easel back. Excellent condition.
