The sweet-faced house-maid has 3 mechanical components. Her eyes, her arm, and the cat move. When in the "closed" position, her eyes are askance facing left and down, the cat is hiding behind her legs, and her left arm is shown in the process of taking something out from behind her apron. In the open position, her eyes are full and looking forward, the cat is shown moving away from her and the arm reveals a card with a heart. The saying is, "I'm just a little house-maid, As lonesome as can be, Don't you think that maybe You could care for little me?"

The back is clean and unused- no writing and the small easel back tab is working and in place. Above the broom it is marked "Made in Germany".

The very top of the broomstick is off (it is now almost flush with her bonnet so we didn't even notice it) and the lower left corner is broken off.
